The Health Risks of Avandia

Reports from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as well as European regulatory agencies and multiple research sources have indicated that taking Avandia may significantly raise your risk of a heart attack or heart problems.

Unfortunately, millions of people have taken the drug for diabetes since its release in 1999.

Experts believe Avandia can increase your chances of a heart attack by as much as 43% and may have been responsible for as many as 200,000 heart attacks and cardiovascular deaths in the U.S. between 1999 and 2006.

An investigation by the U.S. government showed that the maker of Avandia, GlaxoSmithKline, actually tried to bury information about the drug’s risks in order to maintain profits.

While many people stopped taking Avandia or switched to other medication options after these studies were released, there are still many who suffered heart problems that have not received legal help.

Lawyers have already helped thousands of those affected by Avandia recover for their damages. The drugmaker has now offered to compensate those who suffered injury from the drug, however, time is running out to file a claim.

If you took Avandia and suffered a heart attack or heart-related condition it is important to know your legal options before time runs out. Speak with a qualified Avandia Attorney today.
